The 2001 Port vintage was very good despite being mostly undeclared. The winter was extremely wet but eventually transitioned into a warm dry summer. Good conditions continued throughout the rest of the growing season and harvest until late October when rains marred the final few picking days. The harvest was roughly 30 percent larger than the previous year.
Colour: Yellow mature.
Nose: Mulberry, dark berry, ginger, cacao and Christmas spices.
Palate: Medium body with butterscotch, ginger and spicy mouthfeel.
Finish: Long and spicy.
