Kilkerran believes in keeping things natural. They use the local water source, Crosshill Loch, to supply the distillery with water throughout the process, from steeping the barley until 'proofing' the whisky at the bottling stage. The spirit matures at its own pace in Glengyle's warehouses and when it is time for bottling the spirit is not chill filtered nor is any caramel colour added. Cask makeup: 75% Bourbon and 25% Sherry.
Nose: Tropical and stone fruits mixed with delicate peat smoke.
Palate: Waterbridge wine gums, peach and apricot jam. Water favours the bourbon cask aging making it waxy and honeyed.
Finish: A long lasting sweet, fruity, peat smoke finish.
