Craigellachie Distillery sits in the village of the same name having been designed by the renowned distillery architect Charles C. Doig. It was founded by Alexander Edward and Peter Mackie in 1888 and opened in 1891. Craigellachie is one of the few remaining malt whisky distilleries that continues to cool its new spirit in traditional worm tubs. Most of this Speyside whisky flows into White Horse and Dewar’s blends of scotch but it is available in a range of independent bottlings. Craigellachie 15 Year Old 2007 vintage Speyside single malt Scotch whisky. Single sherry butt #19528 bottled July 2022 by Hunter Laing & Co. for the Old Malt Cask series. 753 bottles.
NOSE: APPLES, TOFFEE, AND GARDEN FLOWERS.
PALATE: FRUIT CHEWS, SALTED CARAMEL, AND RED BERRIES.
FINISH: A LONG FINISH, WITH LINGERING SPICE.
