From one of Scotland's oldest Whisky families - The Morrison Family - who were the previous owners of Bowmore, Auchentoshan and Glen Garioch. Mac-Talla means 'Echo' in Scottish Gaelic and reflects the Morrison family connection to the island of Islay. From the Latin stratum, Strata refers to the many igneous rock formations that are visible along Islay’s rugged shores.
24 handpicked oak casks were previously home to prestigious wines, marrying Islay’s untamed smoky nature with the refined fruitiness and opulence of Bordeaux wines.
Nose: Summer berries with a herbal note and a hint of dry smoke.
Palate: Juicy red fruits with cacao and a big waft of smoke.
Finish: A lovely smoky finish - tannic and warm .
