This Canadian exclusive was distilled in early 2005 and bottled in May 2021. Maturation was first fill ex-bourbon cask (cask #2821) and was bottled without chill filtration or added colour. Total outturn: 195 bottles.
Nose: Initial aroma is vanilla custard but marzipan and heather come through as well.
Palate: Some heat at full strength which dulls the tastes. Added droplets of water tames this and allows the flavours to blossom. Malty, chocolatey and hints of tropical fruits on the back palate.
Finish: Short and astringent. Good whisky to couple with dinner.
