The 2017 Jura Tastival bottling, released to coincide with Fèis Ìle on Islay, was made using whiskies finished in American oak bourbon barrels and Douro Valley Port pipes from Graham's. This whisky is non-chill filtered and is the first limited release overseen by new Distillery Manager Graham Logan who replaced Willie Cochrane in September 2016.
Nose: Vanilla, coffee, cocoa, very light spice. There is also a hint of sherry.
Palate: Dark and creamy in the mouth. Fruit - mainly ripe berries with syrup and honey with some tangy liquorice and oily nuttiness.
Finish: Long-ish, pleasant with slight astringency and stewed raisins
