Named after another lost distillery of Campbeltown - which once operated right next door to Springbank and whose warehouse now houses Springbank's bottling hall - Longrow was first produced in 1973 to provide a peaty, oily and robust component to a blend being created at the time. Using a 48 hour kiln drying process for their peat and a double distillation process, the Longrow became a staple in the production calendar in the 1990s. make-up of 65% Sherry casks and 35% Bourbon casks.
Nose: There is a savoury note in the introduction to this dram, along with hints of hazelnut and blackcurrants.
Palate: Syrupy sweet yet delicate on the palate, there are notes of fizzy cola bottles and cigar box smoke.
Finish: A characteristically Longrow finish reminiscent of shingle beaches, flint and seaweed.
