Monteverro Toscana
Regular price $200.00
Monteverro lies at the foot of the small medieval town of Capalbio on the southern edge of Tuscany in Maremma, a region well-known for its originality and tradition.
The vineyard estate is situated in close proximity to the coast and is characterised by its unusual slopes on stony, red clay soil. But it is also the people who make Monteverro so unique. The pure pleasure of wine commits us to uncompromising manual work and selection in the vineyards, and through precision and innovative technology in the cellar, we are ultimately helping every vine variety, every location and every vintage to achieve their optimum expression.
Our shared vision is the cornerstone of our work and binds us as an international team at Monteverro: producing first-class wines on the Tuscan coast. We firmly believe in the potential of Maremma, and the pure pleasure that a great wine gives motivates us every day in our work in the vineyards and in the cellar - we try hard to achieve our goals, and we do this out of utter conviction, strong ambition and unbridled passion.
Our flagship. A true Premier Grand Cru of Maremma, made from the classic Bordeaux grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot and yet with the unmistakable character of the Tuscan coast. An ambitious wine in every respect - the grapes are exclusively from prime locations on our slopes which flow gently to the sea, the wine is aged for about 24 months in barriques from the best coopers (70-80 % new wood) and then for two years in the bottle. This gives it an unparalleled strength and complexity, sophisticated coolness and elegance. Its impressive diversity of bouquets ranging from berries and spicy notes increases year on year.
