Two Brewers Yukon Single Malt Release 27
Regular price $107.00
Take two lads in the Yukon, stick them on a canoe trip, and lo and behold, in 1997 a brewery was born. Now, making beer is a joyous thing, but in 2009 these two blokes decided to buy a still, apply their brewing knowhow and make whisky. Whisky made in small releases, with a variety of malted roasted grains, using different fermentation techniques and a mix of barrels.
Brand new into the market comes the 27th release from Two Brewers. Coming from the Innovative series of releases, Release 27 is definitely a whisky for those persons looking beyond the standard flavour profiles. The heart of this whisky comes from a mash (recipe) consisting of several malts including Munich, Vienna, Honey and Roasted. Once distilled the new make spirit has been placed in a mix of new, ex-bourbon and ex-peated whisky barrels for aging. Outturn was 1080 bottles in total.
Nose: Deep malt aromas rise as misty wafts, quelling the taunting spirit
Palate: The cereal weight is evident, rich as buckwheat honey, nuts and nougat. oak and smoke, remnants from the peated barrels.
Finish: Soft sweetness lingers
