Lindores Single Malt 1494 50ml

Regular price $11.00

Distilling at Lindores Abbey began centuries ago - with the earliest written reference in Scotland to Scotch Whisky (or Aqua Vitae) appearing in the Exchequer Roll in 1494. It records a Brother John Cor, a Lindores monk, who was commissioned by King James IV to turn 8 bolls of malt into Aqua Vitae. 8 Bolls of malt amounts to around 500kg in modern terms and would have been enough to make about 400 bottles of today’s whisky. Lindores Single Malt Scotch Whisky MCDXCIV (1494) is matured in a selection of Bourbon Barrels, Wine Barriques and Sherry Butts. Distilled from Kingdom of Fife barley through the distilleries distinctive ‘sister’ spirit stills and distillery bottled without colour or chill filtration.

Nose: Elegant, soft, mellow vanilla, caramel notes playing with orchard fruits and sweet pear drops. Reminiscent of toffee apples!

Palate: Smooth with a creamy texture and a perfect balance of mellow vanilla, dried fruits, citrus touches with a hint of spice.

Finish: Medium length, delicate but lingering finish.
