An independently bottled rum from the mighty Foursquare distillery in Barbados, drawn from a single cask for Duncan Taylor's Quarterdeck collection.
This combination of pot and column-distilled rum matured for 17 years.
Total Worldwide release: 314 bottles.
Nose: Ripe molasses, caramelized fruit, raisins, brown sugar, toffee. Tropical fruit (pineapple, mango); spices such as cinnamon, clove; notes of oak, hint of rum-soaked raisins, light caramel.
Palate: Full-bodied and rich, with sweet molasses, caramel, dark chocolate, and raisins. Spicy with cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper; creamy-oily texture; notes of wood and charcoal are present without being overpowering.
Finish: Long and warm, with bittersweet chocolate, dried fruit, smoke/wood, and lingering spice.
