The story of Deanston Distillery begins with the opening of a cotton mill, then known as Adelphi. Chosen for its location on the banks of the River Teith, the mill would provide the perfect setting for an innovative new community of craftsmen.
When the cotton industry declined, the workforce at Deanston Mill gradually shrank before the mill closed its doors. Rather than signalling the end of an era, this heralded a new beginning — and a new craft — for the local community.
Nose: Gentle beginnings with vanilla, toffee and coconut. Spicy oak, white pepper and cooling menthol.
Palate: A punchy beginning with caramel, malt, hot spices and oak, with apple crumble and vanilla on the back palate.
Finish: Satisfyingly long with chocolate, malty oak and a pinch of orchard fruit.
