Eccentric meets eccentric - North Star Spirits has teamed up with the ever-notorious whisky reviewer, Ralfy, to create a remarkable 11-year-old Blended Malt Scotch Whisky.
In true Ralfy fashion, this was no ordinary blending session. Over two hours, live in the Whisky Bothy and streamed to his Patreon community, Ralfy real-time blended five different Scotch whisky samples to craft what has become an epic new bottling — now wrapped proudly in North Star Spirits livery.
The ingredients:
• 29% Teaninich (Sherry Octave)
• 28% Secret Campbeltown (Refill Barrels)
• 19% Auchroisk (Refill Sherry Hogshead)
• 14% Caol Ila (Refill Hogshead)
• 10% Secret Speyside (First Fill Hogshead)
Nose: Raisin, oak, soft vanillas, syrupy gingers, soft plum & a little light French mustard.
Palate: Caol Ila peat, ginger, oakwood, soft liquorice, with hints of absinthe. Adding water brings out saltiness, some tar & chimney-peat, with mint.
Finish: Long, warming, sweet and spicy.
