The whiskies bottled in the Cadenhead’s Enigma series are just that - unusual, hard to quantify, perhaps even slightly contradictory. They can be single casks, vattings of multiple casks, blends, blended malts or whatever else that can be found that doesn’t fit into the existing Cadenhead bottling lineup but meets the only essential criteria - that they are delicious.
This unusual highland malt was matured in a combination of refill sherry butts and refill bourbon hogsheads and is deliciously smokey.
Cadenhead Tasting Notes
Nose: Vanilla custard, barley water, dried cranberries.
Palate: Burning embers, candle smoke, gorse bushes.
Finish: Treacle, nutmeg, gingerbread.
