Located just south of Belfast in the grounds of the beautiful Killaney Estate in County Down, the distillery takes its name from the nearby town of Ballynahinch (‘town of the island’).
This peated single malt whiskey is triple distilled and matured in Bourbon casks.
Nose: Smokey, salty, iodine-y aromas.
Palate: Creamy, with a slightly oily mouthfeel. Smokiness from the nose is balanced off by the fruits character that is introduced on the mid-palate. Surprising marshmallow on the back palate.
Finish: Long, with herbaceous notes.
