Independent bottler Morrison & Mackay has undergone a significant transformation since it went under the sole ownership of Jamie Morrison - and will now be known as Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers. Their flagship Carn Mor range is a selection of whiskies that come from single or limited casks, each with their own individually character and story, always using traditional methods. This includes the Carn Mor “Strictly Limited” line.
ocated near the fishing port of Buckie, along the northern tip of the Spey Region, and is a uniquely coastal style of Speyside single malt. No other new-make reaches the same level of intense spiciness which is perceived on the tongue as salinity. The spicy character is driven initially by a hotter than usual second water during the quick mashing regime which cuts back any overt nuttiness. Fermentation is short and the steeply angled lyne arms on the stills help to capture weightier elements. Total worldwide outturn: 910 bottles.
Nose: Vanilla cake with fresh stone fruits and wet cedar.
Palate: Hot black pepper and cloves with continued vanilla notes.
Finish: Crisp caramel apple and juicy citrus.
