Càirdeas (meaning 'friendship' in Gaelic) is Laphroaig’s annual Limited Edition release, celebrating the Friends of Laphroaig community and the spirit of Islay.
The Laphroaig Càirdeas 2026 French Oak is made by fully maturing this iconic Islay single malt in French Oak casks.
French Oak — traditionally used in wine and cognac production — brings something new to the character Laphroaig Lovers know well, adding a softer, more elegant depth to the bold, smoky heart of Laphroaig.
Producer's Tasting Notes
Nose: Smoky, sweet and savoury, with peat, leather and a briny sea note.
Palate: Oily and chewy, with campfire smoke, vanilla, black liquorice and a bright lift of fruit.
Finish: Long, with a subtle sweet citrus flourish.
