This edition of Shenk's is a Kentucky Sour Mash Whiskey made with a substantial amount of rye. The unique character of this 2025 offering results from its production using malted rye in the recipe or mashbill. Additionally, for maturation two different, and quite special, barrel profiles were used. A portion of the whisky was aged in barrels made from wood that was air-dried for 18 months before being toasted and charred to the distillery's specifications. The remain whisky was matured in special French Oak barrels made from wood that came from the Vosges region of France and air-dried for 24 months. This batch is special.
Nose: Toffee with spice and vanilla
Palate: Rye spice, dried fruit and honey.
Finish: Long and savoury
