Garrison Brothers Bourbon - Honeydew
Regular price $150.00
Since 2006, owner Dan Garrison strongly voiced his disdain for ‘flavored whiskies,’ but finally relented to requests from his wife/business partner and released this new expression. In fact, the name ‘HoneyDew,’ is a play on her ‘Honey Do’ requests. Garrison’s objections to flavored whiskies come from the fact that so many are syrupy, chemical concoctions; several even made with propylene glycol. With this in mind, Garrison Brother's master distiller, Donnis Todd, took some award-winning Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey and infused it (for seven months) with Burleson’s Texas Wildflower Honey, resulting in a smooth, light bourbon with a sweet honey finish. The result is a most magical nectar that is light, delicate, gentle, floral, and perfect for sipping on the porch in the summertime.
Nose: It starts sweet with honey, citrus fruit and charred oak aromas on the nose with a dash of spice.
Palate: Sweet Elderberry syrup, yellow-flesh Peaches, Apricots, White Chocolate, and delicious, golden Texas honey
Finish: A brief touch of cinnamon-y heat is followed by a lingering honey note. Very satisfying.
