NA SIA SINGLE CASK SERIES - VIRGIN CHINKAPIN OAK SINGLE CASK BOTTLING
Na Sia Single Cask bottlings demonstrates our six unique Isle of Raasay Single Malt recipe casks. Freshly charred and toasted, these custom made Chinkapin, or Quercus Muehlenbergii American white oak casks are a type of oak native to central and eastern North America. The fresh charring of the cask brings a rich colour and flavour early on in the maturation process, and the high toast caramelizes the natural sugars in the wood. Expect sweet toffee and butterscotch on the nose, with vibrant dark fruit flavours and deep, rich colours at a young age.
Nose: Peat, sherry, wet wood smoke, stone fruits and dark chocolate. Incredibly deep nose.
Palate: Marine influence is very evident: salty and briny. Smoked brisket, leather and oak spices.
Finish: Dry and spicy on the finish, along with gentle peat and sooty coal smoke to finish things off.
