The Shinobu Cognac Single Cask is a cask-strength Japanese single malt finished in Cognac casks.
Shinobu is made by Ken Usami, who founded Niigata Beer 20 years ago, before obtaining a whisky licence in 2018.
While the distillery was being built, he began experimenting with blended world whiskies finished in Mizunara Oak — early work that eventually led to releases like this one.

Tasting Notes:
Nose: Rich notes of dark fruits like raisins and figs, balanced by delicate vanilla and elegant oak.
Palate: Full-bodied and rounded, featuring layers of caramel, toasted oak, and various spices.
Finish: Long and lingering with a persistent woody sweetness.
