Living Souls Kildalton 19 Year Blended Malt

This expression comes from an undisclosed Islay distillery, but it bears the name Kildalton, which also happens to be the name of the south coast of the island (and home to three of Islay's famous distilleries).
Matured in a combo of bourbon and sherry casks, the peaty, smoky, briny DNA still shines through and ought to help the Islay aficionados narrow down which of those three distilleries it comes from ... maybe!
Nose: Cool, blue smoke mingles with sweet, ruby-red grapefruit. Briny seaweed and a hint of Band-Aid. The nose announces, "this is a good and proper whisky!"
Palate: Elegant and light. Still grapefruit-forward, but it's sweet, with a salty edge. Slight wax in the mid-palate. Mouthfeel is soft, but the flavours are focused and concentrated. Oak spice and honey on the back palate.
Finish: Long and luxurious - it's really a homage to the wonderful Islay whiskies from days gone by.
