The Gauldrons Cask Strength Edition is a marriage of aged single cask single malts exclusively from the elusive Campbeltown region of Scotland.
It's offered at natural cask strength (52.8% ABV), without colouring or chill-filtration, ensuring the spirit is as natural as possible.
Occupying a remote location (even by Campbeltown’s standards) on the extreme west coast of Scotland, The Gauldrons literally means “bay of storms.”
Total worldwide outturn: 2125 bottles.
Nose: Malty sweetness with predominant apple aromas. Hiding in the background are light sherry and vanilla, but it is very subtle.
Palate: Sweet, creamy mouthfeel with fresh cherry, blood orange and a hint of raisin. Surprisingly the apple from the nose does not carry though to the palate.
Finish: Short, crisp, and free from clutter.
