Black Bottle Blended Scotch Whisky
Regular price $39.00

Black Bottle has had an unusual journey to reach the back bars of the world’s finest cocktail establishments, but it’s a journey that has been defined by character, determination and a sizeable measure of unconventionality. It began in 1879. Three Graham brothers – Charles, David and Gordon – left the rural village of Torphins, for the booming port of Aberdeenshire in the north east of Scotland, with a plan to make their fortune. They quickly made a name for themselves as tea blenders, but soon turned their attention to a very different drink – whisky.
The blend was originally known as Gordon Graham’s Special Liqueur Whisky, and was sold in pottery bottles and five gallon jars. With many shops selling whisky, the brothers decided to look for a unique bottle, which would set their whisky apart from the many other blends on the market. They settled upon a striking black glass bottle, which they thought would perfectly suit the unusual character of their whisky, and reflect the brave and uncompromising nature of the founders. And so Black Bottle Whisky as we know it was born.
Made from the finest Grains and Malts, it's a curiously rich and delicate smoky blend.
Nose: Fresh and floral with freshly-sawn oak aromas. Spicy with hints of smoke.
Palate: Silky, mellow and fruity with balanced smoky peaty flavours, then sweet oak and heather honey.
Finish: Soft, elegantly spicy, nutmeg, pepper and a gentle lingering smokiness.
