The Glenlivet 12 200th Anniversary Edition is a limited-release single malt Scotch whisky, celebrating the distillery's bicentennial. This expression was matured in first-fill American oak casks, and the bottle features a striking design created by Studio Berdi, an independent artist from Bogota, Colombia.
The design was chosen through a crowdsourcing campaign with artists from 42 countries submitting over 400 designs.
The winning design features hand-drawn motifs that celebrate The Glenlivet's history and the whisky-making process, including an illustration of the distillery's founder, George Smith.
Nose: Sweet fruity notes — fresh tangerines, pineapple slices, hazelnut praline — plus sweet vanilla, crème caramel and subtle floral notes from the first-fill American oak barrels.
Palate: Sweet fruits from the nose, including ripe, juicy pear, sweet orange marmalade, coconut shavings with a notable woodiness, creamy vanilla, and toasted almonds.
Finish: The medium-long finish features a silky, nutty note, accompanied by enduring sweet oakiness.
