For over forty years, Master of Malt has sought out and bottled the world's most remarkable spirits — from legendary distilleries to hidden gems. Each limited-edition release is chosen by a small band of passionate whisky enthusiasts for its character, rarity, and story.
Distilled in 2006, this Glen Elgin spent 16 years maturing in a refill hogshead before bottling without added colour or chill filtration.
Total Worldwide Outturn: 271 bottles
Nose: Toffee pennies, warm caramel, syrupy sponge cake, and buttery shortbread with creamy oak and juicy barley joined by vanilla, milky coffee, and a touch of green banana.
Palate: Soft with layers of fudge, sweet cakey spice, grilled pineapple, and ginger warmth, followed by condensed milk, chocolate-dipped berries, a hint of strawberry laces, and mellow oak char.
Finish: Cherry chocolate, rich oak, butterscotch, and a hint of spice.
