The Kilchoman 100% Islay range is Islay’s only Single Farm Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
It represents the revival of traditional farm distilling, where they grow their own barley, malt it, distil, mature, and bottle every bottle on site.
This year’s 9 year old release is a vatting of 54 ex-bourbon barrels, distilled from our 2014 and 2015 Concerto and Publican barley harvests.
The peat level for this expression is 20 ppm, and the cask makeup is bourbon and sherry. Total worldwide outturn: 12,000 bottles
Producer's Tasting Notes
Nose: Vanilla, tropical fruits, fresh hay and toasted oak with grassy notes and salted butter.
Palate: Milk chocolate, salted caramel and fresh peat smoke with candied citrus fruits, lemon, ripe pear, and hints of white pepper.
Finish: Lingering maritime peat smoke with fresh fruits and honied sweetness.
