Brave New Spirits (BNS) "Deep Creatures of the Lake" 10 Year Old Inchmurrin

This 10-year-old Highland whisky was released under independent bottler Brave New Spirit’s WhiskyHeroes range, a lineup of single-cask whiskies and small-batch releases hand-selected for their distinctive character. 

Distilled at Loch Lomond in 2014, this Inchmurrin expression is technically a peated whisky, yet the smoke is so delicate it's almost impossible to detect—a pleasant contradiction that makes it all the more intriguing.

Finished in first-fill Bourbon casks, this single cask offering was bottled without added colour or chill filtration at a hefty 58.1% ABV.

Nose: Bright and inviting, led by fresh lemon zest followed by the creamy, delicate sweetness of white chocolate.

Palate: Surprisingly complex. Sharp white pepper delivers a vibrant kick, balanced by white chocolate mousse, orange zest, fresh white grapes, mango, pineapple, vanilla, and whipped fondant. 

Finish: Medium-length but clean, satisfying and beautifully rounded with subtle hints of tropical fruit, vanilla and a faint echo of that peppery, coastal character.
