Islay’s remote north east coast might seem a strange place to find a substantial Victorian distillery, but it was chosen in 1881 by William Robertson as the perfect spot for his island vision. While other Islay distilleries sold their make as single malts and also for blending, Bunnahabhain’s destiny was always with blending first and foremost. While it was used across the industry, Bunnahabhain was the backbone for three major blends: Famous Grouse, Cutty Sark and Black Bottle.
Nose: Fresh and aromatic, fruity floral with hints of dried fruit and a subtle prevalence of smoke.
Palate: Light with fruit notes, nutty flavours with a sweetness and slight hints of vanilla and caramel.
Finish: Lingering, beautifully rich and full-bodied.

I have really liked the Smooth Finish and all the Full Bodied influences within the deeply ambered 12 Yr. Bunnahabhain Whisky. I was introduced to this Dram by the North American Brand Ambassador (At the Time Mike, Now The Whisky Explorer) who has always said that this is the Whisky that continues to take hold of his Senses and tease his palate with everything Great while tasting a Great Whisky and just loosing Yourself in the experience and the Moment. You cannot Loose when you invest your Hard Earned $$$ on this very well Priced Dram.... Enjoy the time spent with this one.
