Out of stock
An exceptional single malt, distilled in October 1988 at Glen Garioch and matured in a single bourbon barrel for a whopping 32 years. In August 2021, the whisky was bottled up to become the inaugural release of independent bottler Càrn Mòr's Family Reserve series – appropriately named as this particular cask was hand-selected by Brian Morrison, whose family owned the distillery in the 1980's. This personal connection ensures that this right here is a top-notch example of the whisky that Glen Garioch and the Morrison family were proudly producing at the time, when it was one of the forerunners in carrying out in-house malting and peating. Total worldwide outturn: 108 bottles. Only 3 bottles came to North America and Whisky Drop has access to 2.
Nose: Nose is complex and sweet while not overwhelming.
Palate: Sweetness carries through from the nose, a bit of candy with the addition of light spices (cinnamon). Masticated fruit on the back palate.
Finish: Long lasting - initially gentle peat notes that explode in the stunning finish.
