Salvador Rosales Briseño, a peasant and farmer who received training in the mezcal wine industry, decided to start his own business in the area known as El Arenal. He laid the first stone of the current distillery in 1955. and developed his own brand in the world of Agave spirits, "Tequila Cascahuin", The original building housed the plant and two masonry ovens, as well as cement vats to begin his journey.
The Extra Anejo expression has been aged for 48 months in American Oak and further stabilized for an additional 5 years in the cement vats within the distillery.
Producer's Tasting notes:
Nose: A well-cooked and matured agave. Notes of honey, ripe pineapple, subtle hints of menthol, and Darjeeling tea leaves. Additionally, due to its ripening time, we have aromas of coffee beans, dark chocolate, red berries, and orange peel.
Palate: Sweet flavors with a touch of astringency from the barrel, which provoke an aftertaste of cooked agave and the robust taste of our white tequila. It's a silky drink with a good balance of barrel and tequila, reminding us of its 16-year process (from the field to barrel aging).
