From the company that is located in Henderson Nevada (near the Las Vegas Strip), and sourcing whisky from the heart of Texas, comes this single barrel Bourbon from Copper Tear. With a high corn mashbill, Copper Tear does not come across as a typical bourbon and while a high corn mashbill isn't unusual for bourbons, this expression is so corn forward that it comes across more like a corn whiskey rather than a Straight Bourbon. The mashbill is as follows: 80% Corn, 17% Rye and 3% barley.
Nose: Golden corn syrup, fresh mown hayfields and a hint of Mesquite.
Palate: Buttered corn carries through to the palate with some light oak, vanilla and a touch of toasted brown sugar.
Finish: Lingering ... with vanilla and a subtle heat. A nice combo of sweet and savoury.
