Craigellachie is a Speyside distillery owned by John Dewar & Sons and one of only a handful in Scotland to use worm-tub condensers. This method is definitely "old-school" and lends itself to a heavier, creamier 'mouthfeel' that Craigellachie is famous for. Previously used mostly for blends, Craigellachie releasing single malts around 2014.
Nose: Chocolate, toffee, dried fruit and a diesel-ly touch of sulphur and tyre rubber from the worm tubs.
Palate: Very fruity, with green apple, pear, and kiwi. The nutty undertones are still present, along with crepes, custard creams and Walker's shortbread.
Finish: Dry finish that ends in nutty cereal
