Legend has it that on warm and whetted nights in June, lovers would marry under the first full moon. This low slung, glowing orb had an unusual power over the newly betrothed, wrapping them in a sweet confusion, keeping them up for nights dancing and howling. Its been said that in an effort to quell the undesired revelry, the towns people would deliver to the new marriage beds a distilled honey drink mixed with alluring botanicals - enough to ease their restlessness - until the golden moon had completed her passage. This strange period of moonlit magic that sent souls to fluttering beneath bed sheets was later referred to as the “honeymoon”.
