Ichiro’s 100% blended malts are sourced from two, historic distilleries: the shuttered Hanyu distillery, and the operational Chichibu distillery.
In this case, the malt from Hanyu was aged in sherry casks, and the new make spirit from Chichibu was aged in ex-fill bourbon casks (Quercus).
Nose: Sweetness on the nose. Cereal grains, warm cashews, peaches and ripe apples.
Palate: Creamy and malty from the nose. Vanilla bean, orchard fruits beneath toffee and candied strawberries.
Finish: Short and sweet — honey with a bit of Creme Brulee.
