This edition is made using the same vatting recipe as the regular Machir Bay bottling; however, rather than reducing the strength to 46% alcohol by volume (ABV), Kilchoman has released a limited number of bottles at cask strength or 58.1% ABV.
The higher ABV allows the quality and intensity of the Kilchoman spirit to shine through.
Nose: Waves of fresh green apple followed by tropical candied fruit.
Palate: Initial citrus notes but opens up to honeycomb and milk chocolate on the back palate.
Finish: Long, with an oily, rich texture but noticeable black cracked pepper.
