The Lagavulin 12 Year Old "Grain & Embers" 2025 Special Release is a cask-strength Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky bottled as part of Diageo’s annual Special Releases.
This release was matured in refill bourbon casks as well as Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso-seasoned European oak butts.
Every sip honours the craft of kinship, with a finish that lingers like the warmth of an Islay hearth. This Lagavulin limited edition is bold, peated, unforgettable.
Tasting Notes
Nose: A bold nose with smouldering peat, wood ash and hints of soap and plaster. Maritime notes evoke rock pools, lobster pots, fresh scallops and oyster shells.
Palate: Creamy and lightly oily in texture. The robust, sweet taste exudes dried fruit character, savoury-spicy and salty, developing powerfully smoky hints of peat.
Finish: Long, drying and lightly smoky, with lingering salt and a peat aftertaste. A bit of water adds chilli pepper spice.
