Bonfire smoke lingers, along with gentle tannins, and baking spices.Lagg Distillery is located at the southern end of the Isle of Arran and produces a range of heavily peated, modern and characterful Single Malt Whiskies. Production started in 2019, with the first recorded cut of spirit made on the 19th March of that year.
Batch 3 - Twice distilled as Batch 1 and 2, the spirit for this release was matured in first fill, ex-bourbon casks for 30 months and then finished for 6 months prior to release in 55L ex-Rioja red wine Firkin casks made especially for the Lagg Distillery. This expression is un-chill filtered and bottled without added colour.
Nose: Damp forest floor, vanilla bean and Fry's cocoa.
Palate: Vegetal peat, chocolate wafer nibs, salted caramel.
Finish: Lingering peat, oaky vanillans.
