The original Worsham Distilling Company (which became the Kentucky Peerless Distilling Company) began in Henderson, Kentucky in the early 1880s. In 1889, Peerless Whiskey production began to flourish under the leadership of the entrepreneur and Bourbon Hall of Fame originator Henry Kraver. Today the Peerless Distillery is a state-of-the-art facility with cutting edge technology, making it one of the most automated distilleries. All under one roof, select Kentucky Peerless grains are milled, cooked, fermented, double-distilled, barreled, and bottled as bourbon and rye whiskey.
This twice-aged bourbon is the result of a forced transfer from a leaky barrel in order to salvage it. But it tasted so good, that the Peerless crew decided to create more ... but this time on purpose.
Nose: Caramel and dark chocolate and a whiff of oak ... that suggests this whiskey won’t be for the faint of heart.
Palate: Baking spice followed by more chocolate and caramel, as well as rich leather and gingerbread.
Finish: Toasted oak and nutmeg.
