Penderyn Distillery's uses a custom-built Faraday copper still with an added purifier and rectification column that can reach a staggering 92% ABV on the first run. This is why Penderyn is one of the few single-distilled whiskies from the UK. After a spell in bourbon barrels, the spirit is finished in Madeira casks for extra smoothness.
Nose: A sweet nose with a hint of liquorice, black cherry, and raisins.
Palate: The palate starts off with a bit of a kick, cinnamon and cloves and finishes with elements of vanilla biscuits and custard.
Finish: Fresh, crisp, spices and sour cherries.
