Isle of Raasay Distillery is located on the Inner Hebridean Isle of Raasay in Northwest Scotland. The distillery was founded in 2014 and was the first legal distillery on the Isle of Raasay. Water from a Celtic Iron Age well is used for distillation. This water has a high mineral content derived from the island’s volcanic and sandstone rock.
Whisky Drop is pleased to Introduce Raasay Dùn Cana Sherry Quarter Cask - which encompasses the influence and prowess of Raasay’s mighty volcanic mountain.
Peated and unpeated spirit is firstly matured in American rye casks with a second maturation in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry quarter casks. Total worldwide outturn: 14,000 bottles.
Nose: Sun-dried raisins, Jersey Milk chocolate, salt air and ground nutmeg.
Palate: Desiccated stone fruit with strong peppery hits.
Finish: Fresh black pepper carries through to the end along with some aromatic smoke.
