A 2015 addition to the Scapa range, the Skiren is a handsomely honey'd single malt Scotch whisky which has been distilled in one of the Scotch whisky industry's few remaining working Lomond Stills! It was matured in first fill American oak casks, bringing plenty of vanilla and honey notes to the table. The name comes from the Old Norse word for "glittering bright skies"
Nose: Tinned peaches with bubblegum. That distinct Scapa fruit bouquet is evidence touched up with fudge, mace, cinnamon and apples with lemon peel. A touch of smoke and a gentle honey linger in the memory.
Palate: A sweet arrival with mangoes, orange peel and a slight woody bitterness. Plenty of stewed apples, fudge and vanilla marshmallows.
Finish: Medium length and a bit sweet, with oak lasting too.
