Shinobu Whisky is a craft whisky created by master blender, Mr. Usami Ken - a passionate whisky lover and experienced brewer at Shinobu distillery. In 2017, Mr. Usami obtained the first whisky license for Niigata thus started his journey of becoming a distiller. While the distillery is still under construction, Mr. Usami wanted to experiment with blending world whiskies for unique flavours of Japan. Thus the first expressions of Mizunara Oak Finish are born.
Nose: Deep wood aroma, maltose, nectar, blueberry, coffee and Mizunara oak.
Palate: Oily, ripe fruit, lemon peel, leather, cinnamon, ginger - with a hint of sweet malt in wooden barrels and a touch of stone fruit.
Finish: The sweet aftertaste is outstanding; barrel brings out different levels of spice flavours. Deep floral woody scent is also full of vitality.
