Known as the Beast of Dufftown, this Signatory 100 Proof Mortlach 2013 displays all the Mortlach character: delightfully full-bodied, meaty, spicy and nutty.
Distilled in 2013 and bottled by Signatory Vintage in 2025 at a proper British 100 proof (57.1% ABV), it has a good backbone and a creamy mouthfeel.
The higher ABV also allows for a splash of water, which brings out additional chocolate and sherry notes.
Nose: Dark stone fruits, stewed raisins, wet forest floor and a subtle sulphury note.
Palate: Demerara sugar, red berries, Christmas spice (cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon), and chocolate.
Finish: Long finish with tannic dryness, notes of tobacco, and milk chocolate.
