Spey Tenné is a superb single malt from Speyside Distillery. The spirit is initially matured in ex-bourbon casks before being transferred to Tawny Port casks for finishing. The result is a dramatic colour and taste infusion which produces a soft, tasty whisky.
Nose: Dark skinned fruits - cherry, raspberry, plum and prune. Freshly baked strawberry shortcake.
Palate: Bursting with berries, particularly blackberry and strawberry. Taosted brown sugar, vanilla syrup and candied ginger. Somewhat young and lively but with its youth partially masked by the port finish.
Finish: Medium to long. Dried blackberries. Vanilla and dark chocolate.
