When volunteer firefighter Jess Graber responded to a neighbour's barn fire down the road, he never imagined what would come of it. The barn that Jess made an effort to save belonged to Woody Creek local George Stranahan, a long-time brewery owner and whiskey connoisseur.
The two discovered a shared passion for the Colorado outdoors and a proper pour of fine whiskey. From this relationship, Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey was born. They developed a recipe for a distinctively smooth and flavourful American single malt whiskey using their mountain surroundings to their advantage.
Diamond Peak is a single malt whiskey aged in #3 char New White American Oak and is hand-selected from some of Stranahan's most distinct casks. It is handcrafted in small batches, meaning no two batches are the same.
Nose: Dried apricot, tack-shed leather, black liquorice, hint of wet cedar
Palate: Turkish apricot, dark-roast coffee, butterscotch oak, cayenne and Mexican hot chocolate
Finish: A rolling, creamy finish.
