This unique Glenlivet expression was one of the first to use French oak for ageing whisky, a technique that has since been imitated the world over.
The Limousin oak used is cut in France’s Dordogne region, famous for the maturation of Cognac. The oak's low density allows the whisky to sink deep into the wood, creating a unique, pleasing spiciness.
Nose: Buttery and rich with a creamy mouthfeel.
Palate: Sweet fruits, delicate spices and nuttiness.
Finish: Lingering, sweet almond and spice.
