Mark and Kate Watt have over 40 years of combined experience in the Scotch whisky industry prior to starting their independent bottling company in 2019 from their home base in Campbeltown. Since then, Watt Whisky has released a variety of single cask expressions from single and blended malts to single and blended grains, rum to world single malts. Their philosophy is a simple one: if it tastes good … bottle it.
Although the name of the distillery was not allowed on the label, this whisky was distilled at a location famous for its use of worm tubs, a unique three still distillation process and sourcing water from the Scurran and Rowantree Burns. Highly regarded by blenders, there has only been one “official distillery” release – as part of Diageo’s Flora and Fauna series.
This expression spent 8.5 years in a refill hogshead, 2.5 years in first fill sherry octaves before being decanted into a tired cask (3rd fill hogshead) to calm it down a bit. Total worldwide outturn: 330 Bottles
