Glenrothes
Nestled in a hidden glen on the edge of the town of Rothes, The Glenrothes Distillery has been producing some of Speyside’s finest single malt
for more than a century. What began in 1879 continues in much the same way to this day. The estate is split in two by the Burn of Rothes. On one side, exclusively selected malt arrives on site to be screened and weighed before milling. Fresh spring water is added to the grist before being transferred to tall copper stills. On the other side of the burn, casks are filled with the new make spirit and stored in warehouses to slowly mature. In keeping with over 140 years of whisky making tradition, The Glenrothes is one of the rare Scotch whisky distilleries to have a cooperage on site.
